Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Exhaust Heat Shield Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the exhaust heat shield on the dash panel on Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: The first step to replace Exhaust Heat Shield on dash panel involves raising and supporting the vehicle. After raising and supporting the vehicle complete the front wheelhouse liner replacement procedures for right side (Chevrolet) and right side (GMC) and left side (Chevrolet) to remove Exhaust Heat Shield nuts and both wheelhouse panels. The next step requires removing the Exhaust Heat Shield (1, 3) from its dash panel studs while extracting it through its corresponding wheelwell. The installation includes inserting heat shields (1, 3) into the wheelwell before securing the Exhaust Heat Shield (1, 3) to the dash panel studs. Fasten the Exhaust Heat Shield nuts to a torque of 9 nm while performing installation. Finally, lower the vehicle.
