As the first step for radiator inlet hose replacement on 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l engines you must drain the cooling system. You must separate the air cleaner outlet duct at the
Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor by loosening their clamps before removing the radiator inlet hose clip from the outlet hose and disconnecting the air cleaner outlet duct. The engine sight shield must be discarded when necessary. Start by detaching the vent hose from Radiator Hose clips followed by relocating and removing the inlet hose clips at the radiator before removing the inlet hose from the
Water Pump and the radiator. Start by attaching the inlet hose to the Water Pump while positioning its clamp at this location and continuing with the hose connection to the radiator before securing its clamp at the radiator. To complete the installation put back the inlet hose clamp to the
Fan Shroud while attaching the radiator vent inlet hose to its dedicated clips. You should reinstall the engine sight shield only when needed. Start by matching the arrow on the duct's Throttle Body end with the attaching stud and install the outlet duct onto the air cleaner followed by securement of the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet. Close all the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensorstreamwriter while tightening them to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.) then proceed to fill the cooling system.
