Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Fuse Box Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the left instrument panel fuse box on Chevrolet Silverado 3500?
    A:
The replacement process for the left instrument panel electrical center or junction block starts with taking out the left side end panel and knee bolster. Disengage the wiring connectors from the Fuse block followed by removing all fuses from their locations. Remove the turn signal relay from the Fuse block rear position followed by removing the bolt which keeps the Fuse block in place. A screwdriver should be used to remove the Fuse block from the wire harness block by pushing its retainers until the Fuse block exits the vehicle. Begin installation by inserting the Fuse block onto the i/p assembly until it locks then attach the wire harness block to the Fuse block rear end before tightening the bolt to 6 n.m (53 lb in). The turn signal relay should be installed first followed by a reference to the wiring diagram on the Fuse panel cover for proper Fuse insertion and electrical connector alignment. Place the knee bolster followed by the left side end panel for reinstallation.
  • Q: How to replace the right instrument panel fuse box on Chevrolet Silverado 3500?
    A:
When changing the right side instrument panel electrical center or junction block, first remove the right end panel. Push in on the tabs to detach the fuse block, pull it out to access and loosen the retaining bolt. Unplug a screwdriver and separate the wire harness block with the fuse block and then disjoin the I/P wiring harness block with the car. For installation, install the fuse block to the I/P wire harness block remembering to refer to the Fastener Notice for proper precautions. Fit and tighten the retaining bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in), and firmly attach the fuse block to the I/P until they click securely in place. Connect the wiring connectors to the fuse block, ensuring the connections are correct then finally, re-fix the right side end panel.
