To replace the Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose on parallel hybrid truck, first disconnect the energy storage box and put a drain pan under the vehicle. Drain the fluid from the reservoir to avoid unnecessary spillage. Delete the clamp holding the Power Steering Cooler inlet hose to the power steering gear, as well as the clamp holding the Power Steering Cooler outlet hose to the
Power Steering Pump. Then, remove the bolts that fixing the Power Steering Cooler to the radiator support, and remove the cooler from the vehicle. For installation, install the Power Steering Cooler back on the radiator support and bolt down using 5 nm (44 inch lbs). Next, attach the Power Steering Cooler outlet hose to the Power Steering Pump and install the retaining clamp. Connect the power steering inlet hose at power steering gear and fasten using retention clamp. Reserve and bleed the power steering system, check all hose connectors to find any leaks, install the front grille back, and finally restore the energy storage box after servicing.
