Chevrolet SSR Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Clutch Master Cylinder on Chevrolet SSR?
A: In order to remove the Clutch Master Cylinder, one requires to detach the push rod from the pedal of the clutch, use the appropriate tool to drain the fluid from the reservoir, and unmount the reservoir from the bracket. Next, take the line clip off from the master cylinder and the line attached to the master cylinder and clutch concentric actuator cylinder. Then, unscrew the master cylinder's mounting nuts and pull out the master cylinder assembly. For mounting, install the master cylinder assembly onto the bulkhead and fit the mounting nuts, tightening to 36 nm (27 ft. Lbs.). Put the reservoir back in place on the mounting bracket, resituate the electrical harness to the master cylinder, and hook the line from the clutch concentrator actuator to the master cylinder. Secure the line clip to the line starting from the master cylinder to the clutch concentric actuator cylinder, then the Pushrod that acts on the brake pedal to the master cylinder. Finally make sure to fill the master cylinder with fluid and bleed the hydraulic system.
