You must begin valve
Rocker Arm and push rod replacement by removing the valve Rocker Arm cover while marking the prospective reuse positions of rocker arms. The procedure includes these steps: removing first the Rocker Arm bolts followed by the rocker arms together with the Rocker Arm pivot support. Save the location and position of pushrods unless you plan to reuse them. After that, remove the pushrods. The installation process requires clean engine oil for both valve rocker arms and pushrods while applying it to the valve Rocker Arm bolt flange. The installation of valve Rocker Arm pivot support should start by checking that all pushrods properly fit into valve lifter sockets before attaching the pushrods into their proper positions on the Rocker Arm ends without tightening the bolts. Install the rocker arms together with their bolts before rotating the Crankshaft to reach top dead center of compression stroke on number one Piston positioning both cylinder one rocker arms off lobe lift and the Crankshaft sprocket key at the 1:30 position. Tighten valve Rocker Arm bolts for cylinders 1, 2, 7, 8 exhaust to 30 nm and bolts for cylinders 1, 3, 4, 5 intake to 30 nm while the engine stays in the number one firing position. The valve Rocker Arm bolts should be tightened to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) while the Crankshaft turns 360 degrees before proceeding. The first step requires application of 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) torque to the bolts that secure exhaust valves in cylinders 3, 4, 5, and 6 and intake valves in cylinders 2, 6, 7, and 8. Install the valve Rocker Arm cover as the final step.
