  • Q: How to Replace a Fuel Filler Hose on Chevrolet SSR?
    A:
The process of replacing the Fuel Filler Hose demands cleaning all fuel pipe connections and the surrounding areas to stop fuel system contamination. First empty the fuel inside the Fuel Tank until it falls below the Fuel Filler Hose level by removing the fuel filler cap. You should first remove the fuel fill pipe housing through fuel fill pipe bolts and then raise the vehicle before extracting the spare tire. First separate the fuel fill pipe ground strap then remove the rear axle vent hose when it exists from the fuel fill pipe retainer. Unfasten the fuel vent hose at its attachment to the Fuel Tank clamp and also disconnect the fuel fill hose from its tank clamp before removing the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt while detaching the tank hoses from the Fuel Tank. Twist off the fuel fill and vent pipe assembly from the Fuel Tank. Use the provided caps to cover the open Fuel Tank end. The installer connects the fuel fill and vent pipe hose assembly to the Fuel Tank after tank uncapping by tightening both the vent hose clamp and the fuel fill pipe clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). The first step involves installing the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt at 12 n.m (106 lb in) of torque then adding the fuel fill pipe ground strap and securing its bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reinstall the spare tire and lower the vehicle until installation of the fuel fill pipe housing and its bolts at 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). To complete the operation replace the fuel in the system then secure the fuel filler cap.
