You should expose the torx(R) head shift lever screw by rolling back the seal on the shift lever before removing the screw. The removal process starts with unfastening the knee bolster and its associated nuts from the knee bolster deflector bracket. The wire harness retaining clip needs removal when the steering column comes off to prevent damage to the wire harness and its proper reinstallation is required after completion.
