Chevrolet Traverse Camshaft Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the right side camshaft on Chevrolet Traverse?
A: The right side Camshaft replacement requires removal of the Intake Manifold together with Camshaft cover and Camshaft sensors. The next step requires removal of the intake Camshaft position actuator solenoid followed by the Crankshaft balancer. Dear en 46111 operator please use your tool to turn the Crankshaft into a neutral position where both Camshaft flats rest parallel against the Camshaft cover rail. The open-end wrench should be used at the Camshaft hex to prevent rotation so the Camshaft position actuator bolt can be loosened. Reposition the en-48313 by unscrewing its legs before placing it between the Camshaft actuators. Position the top line of the tool near the cylinder head. Turn the t-shaped handle clockwise of the en-48313 until its feet touch the Timing Chain so each foot engages one link pocket and avoids slippage. Tighten the en-48313 by hand first until you can apply an open-end wrench to its hex-shaped component. The next step involves rotating camshafts towards each other until the en-48313 creates slack in the chain for proper tool installation. First label the Timing Chain and Camshaft position actuators before unbolt the Camshaft position actuator and removing both the Camshaft bearing caps and Camshaft from the engine. Start by positioning the marks from the Camshaft position actuators along with the Timing Chain and proceed with mounting Camshaft actuators onto the camshafts followed by bearing caps and camshafts installation. Install the Crankshaft balancer by applying an open-end wrench on the Camshaft hex to prevent Camshaft rotation. Replace the en-48313 component. The last step involves installing Camshaft position actuators followed by tightening the intake Camshaft position actuator solenoid along with Camshaft sensors and the Intake Manifold and Camshaft cover.
