Chevrolet Uplander Oil Cooler Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine oil cooler on Chevrolet Uplander?
A: The cooling system drainage process starts as the first step toward Engine Oil Cooler replacement. Start by placing a drain pan under the Oil Filter followed by removal of the Oil Filter after removing the radiator air baffle. Use a screwdriver to loosen the outlet hose clamp on the Oil Cooler before removing the outlet hose from its connection. Grease the inlet hose clamp at the engine before you remove the hose from the engine fitting. You need to disconnect the Oil Cooler connector then remove the Oil Cooler and its gasket from the Oil Filter adapter. To install a new Oil Cooler connect the inlet hose to the cooler and tighten the clamp around it. Fit a new Oil Cooler gasket onto the Oil Cooler and join the Oil Cooler assembly to the Oil Filter adapter while tightening the connector to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The first step involves installing the engine fitting end of the Oil Cooler inlet hose and clamping it into place. Then attach the outlet hose to its Oil Cooler fitting. Fasten the new Oil Filter with 30 n.m torque (22 lb ft) before removing the Oil Filter drain container. Reinstall the radiator air baffle after filling the cooling system and performing any required crankcase fluid addition.
