    Q:
How to replace the oil cooler on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
Draining both engine oil and the cooling system remains the first step before removing the Oil Filter. First remove the outlet hose from both the thermostat bypass pipe and the Oil Cooler before unclamping it at the thermostat bypass pipe. The Oil Cooler pipe bolt at the engine mount strut/air conditioning (AC) compressor bracket needs removal before completing the extraction of the Oil Cooler pipe with hoses and the Oil Cooler connector. Position the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp if necessary then unfasten both the inlet hose from the fitting and the Oil Cooler hose fitting. Use thread sealant gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to treat the Oil Cooler hose fitting threads when needed before installing the fitting with a tightness limit of 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.). First, connect the Oil Cooler inlet hose to its fitting then clamp the inlet hose before mounting the Oil Cooler while tightening the inlet hose clamp. Secure the Oil Cooler connector with a torque of 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) before adding the Oil Cooler pipe with attached hoses to the engine mount strut/ac compressor bracket, securing it with a bolt then tightening it to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). After positioning the outlet hose clamp at the thermostat bypass pipe, reconnect the Oil Cooler outlet hose to both the Oil Cooler and the thermostat bypass pipe. After the installation of a new Oil Filter complete your work by adding fresh engine oil and filling the cooling system.

    Q:
How to replace the oil cooler on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the Oil Cooler replacement process by disconnecting the upper Oil Cooler outlet hose from the thermostat bypass pipe and the lower Oil Cooler outlet hose from the Oil Cooler before removing all correspondign hardware. Begin by disconnection of the cooler connector then move to detach the inlet hose clamp before removing the Oil Cooler. Begin by taking the Oil Cooler inlet hose through its clamp process from the Oil Cooler Hose fitting followed by unscrewing the fitting. Before fitting the component apply sealer (P/N 21485278) to Oil Cooler Hose fitting threads before installing it. Tighten the fitting to 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.). Secure the Oil Cooler inlet hose clamp to the Oil Cooler Hose fitting and install the Oil Cooler inlet hose and clamp. Then reinstall the Oil Cooler unit. Start by connecting the Oil Cooler connector while tightening it to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) then proceed with installing the Oil Cooler outlet hoses along with the pipe. To complete the installation connect the lower Oil Cooler outlet hose to the Oil Cooler while the upper Oil Cooler Hose should be connected to the thermostat bypass pipe.

    Q:
How to replace the engine oil cooler on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Engine Oil Cooler replacement process starts with draining cooling system fluid and engine oil before taking out the Oil Filter. First detach the outlet hose from its position on both the thermostat bypass pipe and Oil Cooler before repositioning the hose clamp on the bypass pipe. After detaching the Oil Cooler pipe bolt at the engine mount strut/air conditioning (AC) compressor bracket remove the Oil Cooler pipe along with hoses and then proceed to detach the Oil Cooler connector. Repaint the inlet hose clamp at the Oil Cooler and detach the hose from both the fitting as well as the Oil Cooler hose fitting. Before installing the Oil Cooler hose fitting you must apply thread sealant to the threads if needed before torquing it to 19 n.m (14 lb ft). Position and install the inlet hose by clamping it to the fitting of the Oil Cooler. Position the inlet hose clamp around the Oil Cooler before attaching the coolers to their installation point. Attach the Oil Cooler connector first and tighten it to 50 n.m (37 lb. Ft). Then install the Oil Cooler pipe with hoses and bolt at the engine mount strut/ac compressor bracket and tighten it to 10 n.m (89 lb. In). Reposition the outlet hose clamp at the thermostat bypass pipe while reattaching both the Oil Cooler outlet hose and the thermostat bypass pipe. You need to place a brand-new Oil Filter then add engine oil and finally complete the coolant fill-up.
