  A: The first step to replace Hood Cable requires hood support while you extract the hood latch cable from the hood latch followed by retaining clip removal. Before pulling the hood latch cable free, stretch mechanics wire onto the cable to simplify later installation of the new cable into position. Remove the hood release handle first before taking out the hood latch cable together with its grommet from inside the passenger compartment. Simultaneously take the lead wire from the old hood latch cable to attach it to the new hood latch cable unit. When installing a new hood latch cable utilize the lead wire to direct it into the cowl which should completely fit inside the engine compartment. First install the hood release handle before connecting the hood latch cable to the hood latch and securing it with retaining clips before putting the hood back in place.
