  Q: How to replace the Idle Control Valve on Chevrolet Venture?

  A: Starting the replacement of the Idle Control Valve requires removal of the canister purge valve and Idle Control Valve electrical connector detachment. You should detach the Idle Control Valve screws before pulling out the Idle Control Valve along with its o-ring. It is necessary to verify that the idle control cone extension does not exceed 28 mm (1 - 1/8 in) before valve installation. Additional manual pintle compression may be required. Install the new idle control o-ring following which place the Idle Control Valve in the Throttle Body. Fasten the valve using attaching screws until they reach 3 n.m (27 lb in) torque. Connect the Idle Control Valve electrical connector and install the canister purge valve after attaching the throttle control cable bracket. The powertrain control module (PCM) will execute an Idle Control Valve reset once ignition turns on followed by turning off; this process must be carried out. Begin the engine operation and let it warm up to temperature before continuing.
