GMC C2500 Hood Latch Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the primary and secondary hood latch on GMC C2500?
A: The procedure for replacing the hood primary and secondary latch starts with hood elevation and removal of the upper radiator support baffle unit. Start by disassembling the hood release latch through the removal of its two bolts followed by disconnecting the hood release cable end from the latch to take out the hood release latch from the vehicle. Start with cable end attachment to the Hood Latch before installing the Hood Latch to the radiator support where you should secure the Hood Latch bolts but not tight. Set the Hood Latch height correctly before tightening the Hood Latch bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Set the front hood bumpers at the correct height to guarantee the hood lies smooth with the fenders while replacing the upper radiator support baffle.
