How to replace the tailgate handle on GMC C2500?

Before putting in the new handle, open the liftgate and get rid of the cover panel. Then, unhook the cable assembly from the actuator and take away the nuts positioned behind the handle assembly to remove the entire assembly. When installing, insert the handle assembly into the tailgate, as indicated by the Fastener Notice and attach the nuts to the assembly from the back of the tailgate, tightening them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Reattach the actuator cable assembly to the handle and set the liftgate trim panel in place again.
