  Q: How to replace the secondary air inject check valve on GMC Envoy?

  A: The replacement process of the secondary air injection solenoid valve begins with removing the air cleaner outlet resonator followed by disconnecting electrical connectors from the secondary air injection (AIR) reaction solenoid valve and the AIR pump air outlet pipe from the AIR solenoid valve. Afterward remove the nut that holds the transmission fluid level indicator tube to the AIR solenoid valve and pull out the indicator tube from the AIR solenoid valve stud. Remove the gasket and both 2 AIR solenoid valve studs and the AIR solenoid valve from the engine compartment. Position the AIR solenoid valve with a gasket on the engine while installing two AIR solenoid valve studs with proper torque to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Connect the transmission fluid level indicator tube to the AIR solenoid valve stud while you secure it with nut before tightening it to 10 N.m (89 lb in). The AIR pump air outlet pipe needs to be connected with the electrical connector to the solenoid valve while you reinstall the air cleaner outlet resonator.
