    Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Quarter Window Motor on GMC Envoy?
    A: Start by removing the electrical connector and the rear interior trim panel which hides the actuator before proceeding to remove the actuator. To remove the actuator start by taking off the actuator retaining nuts and removing the actuator arm from the window hinge screw followed by taking out the actuator from the vehicle. A 2.0 mm (0.08 in) pin should be used to fasten the window bracket to the window frame. Position the actuator over the mounting studs before installing retaining nuts which need to be tightened to 7 n.m (2 lb in). Connect the electrical connector . The factory sets a proper timing on new actuators during their manufacturing stage. The window latch bracket of an old actuator requires attachment to the window frame using a 2.0 mm (0.08 in) pin while the bellcrank needs a 45-degree placement in relation to the vertical edge of the window side sheet metal. The body side Power Window Switches (1 or 2) located at the overhead console can be used to set the bellcrank to its correct angular position. The bellcrank arm requires alignment at a 45-degree position that runs parallel to the sheet metal flange until the actuator arm screw can be installed. Fasten and tighten the actuator arm screw at 5 n.m (44 lb in) when attaching the window bracket to the actuator arm. After verifying the body side window function complete the installation by putting back the rear interior trim panel.
