Put the balance shaft aside and insert the J 26941 tool to fix the legs behind the back of the shaft's bearing. First insert the short-threaded J 38834-1 into the balance shaft bore at the front of the block then push it into the J 26941 tool. Push the J 38834-2 through J 38834-1 into the balance shaft bore of the engine block. Twist the J 38834 nut clockwise with a wrench and place the J 38834 bearing along with its washer over the J 38834-1 before tightening it until the balance shaft rear bearing leaves the engine block. The old balance shaft rear bearing should be replaced in this step. To install the new balance shaft rear bearing insert the J 38834-3 onto the small threaded end of the J 38834-1 and then attach the bearing components on its long threaded end. Insert the smaller diameter end of part J 38834-2 into the balance shaft front bearing bore with the J 38834-1 positioned correctly on the end. Apply clean engine oil onto the new balance shaft rear bearing and set it onto the J 38834-2 by ensuring correct alignment. Use a wrench to tighten the J 38834-1 until the balance shaft rear bearing fits completely into its bore space. Put the balance shaft into position by fitting the J 38834 attachment.
