How to remove and replace the power mirror switch on GMC Canyon?

A worker must first remove two screws that hold the switch plate assembly in position to the door trim panel before starting work. The switch plate front section must be raised to free the clip before you pull out the switch plate from its door trim panel opening. The power switch (3,4) connectors must be detached from their positions on switches (2, 5) before you extract the switch plate assembly from the car body. Replace the switches independently before removing them from the plate while installing only a new switch plate maintain the existing switches for transfer. The switch plate (2, 5) needs to be placed on the switches before securing electrical connectors (3, 4) to (2, 5). Screw in the switch plate assembly to the door trim panel by using the 2 screws while tightening each front door switch plate screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

How to replace the Power Folding Outside Mirror Switch on GMC Sonoma?

The first step for replacing the power folding outside Mirror Switch includes disconnecting the battery negative cable. A flat-bladed tool should be used to gently lift up the leading edge of the folding outside Mirror Switch. The next procedure requires prying up the accessory switch panel from the armrest at its front leading edge without breaking electrical connections. Before installing the power folding Mirror Switch you must detach its electrical connector. Toward installation connect the electrical connector to the power folding Mirror Switch followed by attaching the power accessory switch mounting panel onto the armrest where retainers should lock securely. Fitting the power folding Mirror Switch onto the door trim panel requires confirmation that retainers securely lock in position before reattaching the battery negative cable.

Replace the switches independently before removing them from the plate while installing only a new switch plate maintain the existing switches for transfer. The switch plate (2, 5) needs to be placed on the switches before securing electrical connectors (3, 4) to (2, 5). Screw in the switch plate assembly to the door trim panel by using the 2 screws while tightening each front door switch plate screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
