To replace the Cruise Control Module, before hand, lift up and support the hood then remove air cleaner assembly from the vehicle. For 4.3l, use the air cleaner assembly replacement procedure and for the 4.8l, 5.3, and 6.0l, a similar procedure is to be followed. Then, remove the electrical connector of the cruise control and the cruise control cable from the Cruise Control Module. Take off the two nuts that hold the Cruise Control Module to the cruise control bracket and pull the Cruise Control Module out of the cruise control bracket and the vehicle. Installation guide for Cruise Control Module: return the Cruise Control Module back to the vehicle and crane it on to the cruise control bracket. Mount the two nuts and tighten them onto the Cruise Control Module and tighten them towards the cruise control bracket with a torque of 5n.m (44 lb in) get the cruise control cable and the electrical connector back to the Cruise Control Module and reinstall air cleaner assembly by the correct replacement method based on engine type. Lastly, close the hood, and continue with-dropdown programming-install and relearning if needed.
