Control Module

You have to disconnect the negative Battery Cable before servicing the Cruise Control Module. Take out the air cleaner assembly from the car and disconnect the cruise control connector inside the module. First, unscrew the three screws holding the Cruise Control Module in place and next, disconnect the cable to the module from the cowl before removing it. Put the Cruise Control Module (2) in its proper location and link it to the cruise control cable (1). Attach the Cruise Control Module to the cowl with three screws and tighten them to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Lastly, put back the electrical connector at the cruise module and connect the Battery Cable to its negative terminal.

In servicing the Cruise Control Module, one should first lift and support the hood from the vehicle and then take out the air cleaner assembly. Remove the electrical connector and the cruise control cable from the Cruise Control Module. Following that, do take out the two nuts that hold the Cruise Control Module to the cruise control bracket and take the Cruise Control Module out from the bracket and the vehicle. As to installation, connect the Cruise Control Module back into the vehicle and seating on cruise control bracket as directed by the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the module with the use of the two nuts tightening them up to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Reconnect the cruise control cable and the cement of the Cruise Control Module then put the air cleaner assembly back and close the hood.

The 3 nuts that have to be removed in order to separate the Cruise Control Module from the mounting bracket studs should now be removed, followed by the leaving behind of the module. Next, remove the 3 screws that cause the bracket to mount to the cowl panel. To install, mount the mounting bracket to the cowl panel, by using the 3 screws and tightening the screws. Then, reinstall the Cruise Control Module in the vehicle and fasten with the 3 nuts, tighten 9.0 n.m, (6.6 lb ft). Reconnect the electrical connector and the cruise control cable and finally reconnecting battery negative cable. Finally, verify the system's operation to ensure all the components are working fine.

To service the cruise control module you must first remove the bolts of the upper fender brace assembly, and you then pull apart the upper tender brace assembly. Unplug the electric connector from the cruise control module and remove the module nuts from the cowl. Next, remove the cruise control cable from the device by using the suitable procedure for V8 or V6 replacement. After removing the cruise control module from the vehicle, install it back into the vehicle and connect the cruise control cable and end it using the relevant replacement procedure. Install the nuts to hold the cruise control module to cowl, and tighten to 9N.m or 80 lb in and reconnect the electrical connector at the cruise control module. Lastly, re-install the brace and bolt it tightly to 9 N.m (8 lb ft).

Follow this procedure to replace the Cruise Control Module: begin by disconnecting the battery negative cable followed by disconnecting both cruise control cable and electrical connector. First remove the 3 nuts securing the Cruise Control Module to the mounting bracket studs then take it and the mounting bracket away from the cowl panel after removing the mounting bracket's 3 screws. When installing the mounting bracket into the cowl panel attach it using three screws before tightening the Cruise Control Module bracket screws to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Fasten the Cruise Control Module into position by using 3 nuts at 9.0 n.m (6.6 lb ft). After testing the system functionality between each step reattach the electrical connector and implement the cruise control cable then reinstall the battery negative cable.

The Cruise Control Module servicing requires detachment of the battery negative cable and cruise control cable alongside all required electrical connectors. Unsecure the Cruise Control Module from its mounting bracket studs by removing the three nuts (Nuts). Then detach the module from its mounting bracket position. The mounting bracket securing the cowl panel requires three screws (Screws) to be removed. When installing you should position the mounting bracket onto the cowl panel using the 3 screws while ensuring proper torque. Replace the Cruise Control Module into its placement inside the car before using the 3 nuts (Nuts) to attach it to the mounting bracket studs with 9.0 n.m (6.6 lb ft) torque settings. Follow these steps to replace the cruise control part: install the cruise control cable followed by reconnecting the battery negative cable then re-connect electrical connectors when required. Validate that the system works properly through operational testing.

Connect the cruise control cable and the electrical connector to the cruise control module, reinstall the air cleaner assembly, and finally, close the hood.

Disconnect the electrical connector at the cruise control module and remove the nuts that secure the module to the cowl.

Begin by placing the cruise control module in position and securing it with the module bolts.

Remove the cruise control module bolts and take out the cruise control module.

Remove the cruise control cable.
