The procedure to replace the two-piece propeller shaft begins with vehicle elevation along with propeller shaft support using safety stands. The technician should remove center bearing bolts from the bracket before they remove the center bearing followed by the propeller shaft hanger bolts and finally remove the hanger itself. You should take off the bolts and yoke retainers from the rear axle pinion yoke before disconnecting the propeller shaft from the rear axle pinion yoke . Pull the propeller shaft backward out from the transmission space to complete removal. First attach the propeller shaft to the rear axle pinion yoke followed by installation of bolts and yoke retainers on the rear axle pinion yoke while tightening these retainer bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). install the propeller shaft hanger followed by its bolts while the torque should be set at 52 N.m (38 lb ft). Fitting and securing the center bearing onto its bracket happens through center bearing bolts while patiently tightening them to 40 N.m (30 lb ft). Finished work can be accomplished by removing safety stands and bringing down the vehicle.
