GMC Sierra 1500 Classic Window Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front side door window motor on GMC Sierra 1500 Classic?
A: Firstly, raise the window to replace the front side door Window Motor. If Window Motor is not functional, take off the window to identify retaining screws. Next, take off the door trim panel, water deflector, and door speaker, support the window. Remove the wiring harness from the Window Motor and the 3 bolts attaching the Window Motor. Take care not to allow the cable gear to release from the housing as that would release the cable from the spool. Pull apart the motor from the cable housing, wiggle it carefully while watching the orientation of the Window Motor and then remove the motor from the door regulator assembly. For installation, wiggle the motor into place within the cable housing and install the 3 bolts to the Window Motor, tighten them to 5 n.m (44 lb in). If the window is missing, then reinstall the window and connect it back to the Window Motor. First remove the window support concerning wiring harness and after connecting the wire connector to the switch you may inspect the window work accordingly disconnect the wiring harness to proceed with the installation. Lastly, install the speaker, water deflector, and door trim panel.
