Replace the retainer because it shows bending. The first step is to lay down the valve lifters before setting the valve lifter guides directly over the flat portions of each valve lifter. This alignment step must have the valve lifter rollers pointing directly at the Camshaft lobes. Install the valve lifter guide retainer first before installing the guide retainer bolts with a torque of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Finally, put back the valve rocker arms and pushrods.
