To service and repair the Spark Plug wires, turn off the Spark Plug wire at every Spark Plug, twist the boots before separation, and only pull on the boot or use a tool that did this purpose to separate the wire. Next, remove the Spark Plug wire from the
Distributor, by twisting Spark Plug boot 1/2 turn and again pulling just boot or using tool for this purpose. For installation, first connect the Spark Plug wires to Distributor and ensure that the boots are seated properly by pulling smartly on them to prevent wire core wearing into the engine and a misfire or crossfire and internal engine damage. Then, run Spark Plug wire to each plug. Examine the wires for correct installation by pulling sideways on all the boots to test the seating, reinstall any loose boots, and be sure that wire routings are maintained to minimize the risks of radio ignition noises, crossfiring, or shorting to the ground. Lastly, always add new dielectric grease inside boot whenever you are installing Spark Plug wires or boot on the spark plugs.
