A: The replacement of front drive axle inner axle seal or bearing requires slide hammer with bearing adapter (J23907) and bushing and bearing remover (J29369-1), axle bearing installer (J42211), seal installer (J42738) and universal driver handle - 3/4 in-10 (J8092). Start by elevating the vehicle followed by removing the drive shaft of the left wheel or right-wheel position while safeguarding the case from damage. First remove the left inner Axle Shaft before proceeding to remove the inner Axle Shaft seal cover. Use the bushing and bearing remover (J29369-1) to attach the back of the inner Axle Shaft bearing and then join the slide hammer (J23907) to start pulling the bearing from its place. Use a vise to hold the inner Axle Shaft seal cover while you remove the inner Axle Shaft seal by applying the bushing and bearing remover (J29369-1). Start by taking out the inner Axle Shaft and housing assembly followed by the inner Axle Shaft that is isolated in the housing on the right side. You should use bushing and bearing remover (J29369-1) with slide hammer (J23907) to extract both bearing and seal components. The installation requires the axle bearing installer (J42211) and universal driver handle (J8092) to install the bearing that possesses the square shoulder then the seal installer (J42738) for adding the new Axle Shaft seal. After reassembling the inner Axle Shaft assembly with the housing follow with the inner Axle Shaft seal cover and apply bolt torque to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Install the wheel drive shaft and check the axle lubricant before lowering the vehicle by tapping the left inner Axle Shaft into position properly.
