Q: How to replace the rear Fender Splash Shield inner panel extension on GMC Yukon XL 1500?
A:
First unfasten the retainer strap on the backside of the inner panel extension before removing front and rear retainers from the extension. The removal procedure starts by removing the retainer strap at the backside of the inner panel extension followed by taking out the retainers from the front and rear of the extension. Afterward, remove the rear wheelhouse inner panel extension from the vehicle. First attach the rear wheelhouse inner panel extension to the vehicle using the instructions from the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Start by installing retainers to the rear side of the inner panel extension then tighten them by 1.7 N.m (15 lb in) followed by repeating the procedure to attach front retainers by 1.7 N.m (15 lb in). The last step involves placing the retainer strap on the inner panel extension backside.
Q: How to service and repair the front Fender Splash Shield on GMC Yukon XL 1500?
A:
The front fender splash shield maintenance requires first removing push-in retainers on the wheelhouse panel together with top clips that hold the harness onto the wheelhouse panel top. Remove both specific retainers on the Avalanche before removing the wheelhouse panel from its wall position. After positioning the wheelhouse panel correctly you should secure it in place by installing the top clips which create the harness. First place the retainers meant for the Avalanche then finish up by attaching the push-in retainers onto the wheelhouse panel.
