To replace the mass air flow/intake air temperature maf/iat sensor, be gentle for its handling to prevent damages to the honeycell at the air inlet end and do not touch the sensing elements or let any cleaning solvents or lubricants hit it. Apply a tiny amount of a non-silicone based lubricant to the air duct to help with its installation. First, loosen the clamps (1,3) at the maf/iat sensor and the
Throttle Body, and then remove the air intake duct from the maf/iat sensor and from the Throttle Body. Remove the electrical connector from the maf/iat sensor, loosen the clamp that holds the maf/iat sensor on the air cleaner housing, and remove the maf/iat that sits on the air cleaner assembly. For installation, make sure that the embossed arrow on the maf/iat sensor should face the engine, then install the maf/iat sensor onto the air cleaner housing and tighten the clamp. Connect the maf/iat electrical connector, reinstall the air intake duct to the maf/iat sensor and the Throttle Body, and finally tighten the clamps (1, 3) at the maf/iat sensor and the Throttle Body.
