Arrange the extracted valve lifters after guide removal so you can easily reinstall them correctly. Proposed procedures include examining valve lifters for damage. During installation of valve lifters always replace them in their original guide position. Apply clean engine oil to both engine block valve lifter bore surfaces and top sides of valve lifters before dropping the valve lifters into the guide bores with their flat sections matching. Push the lifter completely into the guide bore before you install the valve lifters and guide to the engine block. Begin by installing the valve lifter guide bolts at 12 nm (106 inch lbs.) torque then move to installing the Cylinder Head and gasket.
