    Q:
How to replace the fan blade in a gasoline engine on Chevrolet Silverado 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace a gasoline engine Fan Blade is to start by dismounting the upper Fan Shroud. Using the j 46406 Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) attach the tool to the Fan Clutch before unscrewing the fan hub nut from the Water Pump with counterclockwise motion. Start by taking out the bolts from the Fan Blade rear section before disconnecting the Fan Clutch from the blade. New fan assemblies require replacement with totally undamaged units to avoid property damage or specific injuries that can be caused by unbalanced fan rotation. Start by mounting the Fan Clutch onto the Fan Blade followed by Fan Clutch bolt installation and torquing them to 23 nm (17 ft.lbs.). To install the assembly connect the fan first while using the j 46406 (J 46406) to fasten the nut clockwise to 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Reinstallation of the upper Fan Shroud completes the installation process.

    Q:
How to Replace a Radiator Fan and Ensure Proper Installation on Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for engine Radiator fan replacement starts with Radiator fan and shroud removal and then proceeds to Radiator fan blade retainers and fan blades. Two different fan blades must be selected for installation: a 5-blade fan and a separate 7-blade fan. The blade installation orientation does not matter yet installing both new fan assemblies with the same number of blades can lead to noise problems. The next step is to install the Radiator fan blades while using the Radiator fan blade retainers and finally put back the Radiator fan and shroud.

    Q:
How to replace the radiator fan on Chevrolet Silverado 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process starts with removing the Radiator Fan and shroud before removing both retainers of Radiator Fan blades and the fan blades. You should use one assembly with a 5-blade fan and another assembly with a 7-blade fan when putting in the new Radiator Fan. The positioning of fan blades does not matter but installing two 5-blade or two 7-blade assemblies will produce noise issues. Install the Radiator Fan blades first followed by Radiator Fan blade retainers before reattaching the Radiator Fan together with the shroud.

    Q:
How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud on GMC Sierra 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
People should start the Radiator fan and shroud replacement process by removing the radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud before positioning the surge tank inlet hose clamp on the radiator while taking out the inlet hose connecting to the radiator. The first step involves removing the Radiator fan wiring harness clip before disconnecting all electrical connectors for the radiator fans. In case of need, proceed to open the engine oil cooler line clamp and extract the connecting lines from this attachment point. To proceed next remove the Radiator fan shroud bolts before extracting both the Radiator fan together with the shroud. To properly install the Radiator fan and shroud place their three lower tabs inside the radiator support flange while keeping the shroud parallel to the radiator. Secure the Radiator fan shroud bolts by torquing each one to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). First install the cooler lines into the clip before closing it while connecting electrical connectors to the radiator fans. Reattach the wiring harness clip to the shroud while you install the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator which needs repositioning for the inlet hose clamp at the radiator before clip engagement at the fan shroud.

    Q:
How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud (Non-HP2) on GMC Sierra 3500 Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of changing a Radiator fan along with shroud (Non-HP2) starts with draining the cooling system. First access the air inlet duct and remove its connection with the upper Radiator Hose before unclipping the fan shroud hose at the Radiator inlet. If needed you should move or take out the surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator. First disconnect the Radiator fans wiring connectors then detach the wiring harness retaining clip on the fan shroud followed by removing the transmission cooler lines bolts from the fan shroud. The procedure requires opening the clip on the engine oil cooler lines and removing the cooler lines. The next step involves disassembling the Radiator fan shroud bolts followed by removing the combination of the shroud and fan. The Radiator support flange should receive the 3 lower tabs initially before the installation step with the condition that the shroud maintains alignment with the Radiator. Position the Radiator fan back into the assembly and fix the Radiator fan shroud bolts while tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Install the cooler lines into the clip while closing it and after that connect the electrical connectors to the Radiator fans followed by the installation of the clip which secures the wiring harness to the shroud. Attach the transmission cooling line bolts to the fan shroud while tightening them to 4 n.m (35 lb in). The surge tank inlet hose requires installation and repositioning at the Radiator before using the Radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud and installing the upper Radiator Hose from the Radiator and the air inlet duct. Finally, fill the cooling system.
