    Q:
How to replace the front brake caliper bracket on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the front Brake Caliper Bracket replacement process by elevating the vehicle and removing its tire along with wheel. Use 2 wheel nuts opposite each other to securely fasten the rotor to the hub until it is tight by hand. Extract the brake caliper guide pin bolts to detach the brake caliper from its caliper bracket position while supporting it using heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. Start with removing the inboard Brake Pad but keep a record of where the Brake Pad wear sensor is located. Then proceed with the outboard Brake Pad removal before taking out the disc Brake Pad retainers . First remove the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts and detach the Brake Caliper Bracket from the vehicle. Check the condition of the disc brakes along with their hardware components. To install the Brake Caliper Bracket use Brake Caliper Bracket bolts which should be tightened to 115 n.m (85 lb ft) for j41/jm4 or 130 n.m (96 lb ft) for jl9. Apply a light layer of high temperature silicone brake lubricant to all mating surfaces between brake hardware located on the caliper bracket before installing the disc Brake Pad retainers. When using wear sensor pads ensure the leading edge points towards the brake rotor while the pad sits inboard of its location or position at the top when installed in the vehicle. Mount the inboard Brake Pad first followed by the outboard Brake Pad . Place the brake caliper to the caliper bracket after removing the support. Install the brake caliper guide pin bolts and torque them to 35 n.m (26 lb ft). To finish the procedure replace the brake rotor wheel nuts with the wheel assembly, tire, and lower the vehicle.
