    Q:
How to replace the rear brake caliper bracket on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must support the brake caliper through the use of heavy mechanics wire or equivalent tool which must stay connected to the hydraulic flexible brake hose while preventing the hose from damage and potential brake fluid leaks. The first step includes taking away the brake caliper from the mounting bracket keeping the hydraulic hose connected before proceeding to detach brake pads from the Brake Caliper Bracket and Brake Pad retainers from the same bracket. Reprieve the bracket bolts followed by removal of the rear read caliper bracket. First remove all rust and debris from the Brake Caliper Bracket using a wire brush then examine both the brake mounting components and hardware. Clean the caliper bracket bolts and threaded holes with denatured alcohol before installation while allowing enough drying time before proceeding. For caliper bracket bolt reuse apply gm p/n 12345493 threadlocker (Canadian P/N 10953488) over 2/3 of its threaded length making sure threadlocker does not leak through. Wait until the threadlocker cures for ten minutes before installing and securing the Brake Caliper Bracket with bolts achieving a torque level of 130 n.m (96 lb ft). After applying high-temperature silicone lube on the brake caliper pin bolts, install Brake Pad retainers and brake pads to the Brake Caliper Bracket before mounting the brake caliper.

    Q:
How to replace the rear brake caliper bracket on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Secure the rear brake caliper using mechanics wire to prevent it from falling while leaving the flexible hose connected to avoid fluid leaks. Take off the brake caliper from its bracket keeping the hose connected and remove both brake pads and retainers from this bracket. Next you must remove both bolts that secure the Brake Caliper Bracket and then take out the entire rear Brake Caliper Bracket. Check and remove all rust or debris from the Brake Caliper Bracket using a wire brush. Inspect how the brake components mount together and verify the condition of the hardware. Clean both caliper bracket bolts and holes thoroughly with denatured alcohol or similar solvent before installation to get rid of any threadlocker residue. Apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to two-thirds of the bolt thread length on the old caliper bracket bolts and wait ten minutes. Fasten the Brake Caliper Bracket to its location using Brake Caliper Bracket bolts and tighten them to 130 n.m (96 lb ft). Match the brake caliper pin bolts with a thin layer of high-temperature silicone lube before putting Brake Pad retainers and brake pads onto the Brake Caliper Bracket for installation of the brake caliper.
