    Q:
How to replace the front brake caliper bracket on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must lift the car and unmount the tire and wheel before beginning front Brake Caliper Bracket replacement work. The brake caliper assembly needs support with heavy mechanic's wire or equivalent to handle its mount separation from the Brake Caliper Bracket when the hydraulic flexible brake hose stays connected to prevent damage and brake fluid leaks. Position the front brake caliper assembly on the side for inspection before removing brake pads from their bracket while marking the inboard pad. Examine the brake hardware before removing the mounting bracket's Brake Pad retaining clips. First remove the retaining bolts of the caliper mounting bracket then uninstall the bracket before extracting the seals from around the guide pins. A visual inspection of the brake rotor must happen before you install the new mounting bracket guide pin seals. Guide pins and Brake Pad retaining clips need cleaning with denatured alcohol before receiving non-lubricated filtered air drying. High temperature silicone brake lubricant should be applied to the guide pins of the brake caliper while skipping the Brake Pad retaining clips entirely. Install the brake caliper mounting bracket and its bolts then torque them to 150 nm (110 ft. Lbs.). Install the rear Brake Pad hardware onto the bracket structure then secure the brake pads in position. Replace the brake caliper assembly followed by the tire and wheel assembly then drop the vehicle. A firm brake pedal stands to be achieved when you follow brake pedal pumping with slow firm movements for pad bracket seating.
