    Q:
How to service and repair the control arm bushing in the rear suspension on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
A technician must take the Control Arm out of the vehicle before performing repair work on its rear suspension bushing. Attach the puller bolt/thrust bearing (J21474-19) through the bushing remover (J41014-1) to create a tool assembly over the bushing against the Control Arm surface. Use high pressure lubricant (J23444-A) to treat the threads on the bolt. Put the bushing remover (J22222-2) with its small end pointing at the bushing while installing the long nut (J21474-18) onto the puller bolt/thrust bearing (J21474-19). Apply torque to the long nut (J21474-18) until the bushing pops out of the Control Arm then remove the bushing installation tools. To install the new bushing settle it vertically onto the Control Arm with the flat surface facing upward toward the rear of the assembly. Next place the puller bolt/thrust bearing (J21474-19) through the bushing receiver (J41014-2) while positioning it over the bushing against the Control Arm. Apply high pressure lubricant (J23444-A) along the threads of the bolt. First install the bushing installer (J28685) with its large end point toward the bushing and the long nut (J21474-18) onto the puller bolt/thrust bearing (J21474-19). Tighten the puller bolt/thrust bearing (J21474-19) to push the bushing completely into the Control Arm position but stop short of final tightening. After removing the bushing tools you should install the Control Arm onto the frame.

    Q:
How to service and repair the control arm bushing on Buick Park Avenue? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the Control Arm Bushing servicing and repair process requires first removing the Control Arm from the vehicle. The long bolt with thrust bearing (J21474-27) should be installed through bushing receiver (J41014-2) so it seals the Control Arm Bushing with a washer on top. Apply high pressure lubricant (J23444-A) to the bolt thread. Install the bushing remover (J41014-1) with its small end facing the bushing along with both the thrust bearing and long nut (J21474-4) onto the long bolt with thrust bearing (J21474-27). After driving the bushing out of the Control Arm with the correct tightening of the nut you can remove the bushing tools. To install the bushing start by inserting it into the Control Arm and position its flat section vertically and facing toward the rear. To install the long bolt with thrust bearing (J21474-27) place it through bushing remover (J41014-1) alongside the washer to compress the bushing while inside the Control Arm. Then add high pressure lubricant (J23444-A) to the bolt threads before fitting the bushing installer (J21474-13) with large end directed toward the bushing and attaching the thrust bearing and long nut (J21474-4). Finally, tighten the bolt to set the bushing in position. First tighten the bolt completely to push the bushing fully inside the Control Arm before removing the tools for bushing installation. The Control Arm can then be mounted to its frame position.
