How to service and repair the control arm bushing on Cadillac Seville?

Starting the Control Arm Bushing repair process requires complete removal of the Control Arm from its vehicle position. The removal process starts by assembling the thrust bearing with the bushing remover and receiver (J 21474-5) followed by using the long bolt (J 21474-27) to drive out the bushing from the Control Arm properly. Position the bushing receiver over the bushing until it rests against the Control Arm. During this setup the long bolt passes through the bushing remover while the tool set remains assembled. High-pressure lubricant must be applied to the threads before putting in the nut (J 21474-4) which drives the bushing out of the Control Arm. Extract the bushing when you dismantle the tools. Drop the new bushing into the Control Arm at a vertical position with either forward or rearward alignment. Use a long bolt (J 21474-27) along with a washer through the bushing installer (J 41014-1) as an installation guide which positions the bushing against the Control Arm. Apply high-pressure lubricant on the bolt threads then install the bushing receiver, thrust bearing, and nut onto the bolt. After seating the bushing inside the Control Arm, you should tighten the nut and disassemble the tools before reinstalling the Control Arm.
