How to Properly Service and Repair a Control Arm Bushing on Chevrolet Colorado?

Before starting with front lower Control Arm Bushing replacement it's essential to disassemble the front drive axle when present. Remove the lower Control Arm after completing step one. Before you remove the bushing take a measurement of the bushing flange's distance to its bracket. This measurement will help you establish the proper installation length for the new bushing. Use the ball joint remover/installer (J 41805) as an instrument to sunset the rear bushing. Use the ball joint remover/installer (J 41805) to place the rear bushing correctly in the specified measurement noted during the previous step. Reposition both the lower Control Arm and the front drive axle when finished.

How to replace the rear axle lower control arm bushing on Chevrolet Equinox?

The first step for replacing the rear axle lower Control Arm Bushing is to take out the lower Control Arm. To remove the bushing in the specified direction the rear Control Arm Bushing remover (J 45097) must be used. Install the through bolt with washer and bearing against the push out socket as you position this socket against the bushing from the Control Arm's flanged side. Fit a backing socket on the Control Arm's non-flanged side before putting stabilizer between Control Arm ears. After application of high pressure lube to tool threads secure everything with flat washers then use a nut to complete this process. The bushing will completely remove when you tighten the nut. Before inserting the new bushing apply high pressure lube to the tool threads then push the bushing through from the other side. Apply the rear Control Arm Bushing remover (J 45097) to execute the reverse installation steps using tool layout approach until the bushing sits completely before installing the lower Control Arm.

How to replace the front lower control arm bushing on Chevrolet Malibu?

To change the front lower Control Arm Bushing, first, lift and support the vehicle. Next, take off the tire and wheel. Later pull out the lower Control Arm and the lower Control Arm to rear bushing bolt. Mark the position of the bushing while removing and remove from the lower Control Arm. During fixing, install the new bushing into the lower Control Arm in the same location as previously mentioned. Apply locktite(TM) 234 or equivalent on the threads of the bolt and install the lower Control Arm to bushing bolt; while holding the rear bushing inner sleeve, tighten to the bushings to the Control Arm bolt, to 44 n.m (32 lb ft). Reinstall the lower Control Arm and follow up with the tire and wheel, and then lower the vehicle.

Before you remove the bushing take a measurement of the bushing flange's distance to its bracket. This measurement will help you establish the proper installation length for the new bushing. Use the ball joint remover/installer (J 41805) as an instrument to sunset the rear bushing. Use the ball joint remover/installer (J 41805) to place the rear bushing correctly in the specified measurement noted during the previous step. Reposition both the lower Control Arm and the front drive axle when finished.

A: The first step for replacing the rear axle lower Control Arm Bushing is to take out the lower Control Arm. To remove the bushing in the specified direction the rear Control Arm Bushing remover (J 45097) must be used. Install the through bolt with washer and bearing against the push out socket as you position this socket against the bushing from the Control Arm's flanged side. Fit a backing socket on the Control Arm's non-flanged side before putting stabilizer between Control Arm ears. After application of high pressure lube to tool threads secure everything with flat washers then use a nut to complete this process. The bushing will completely remove when you tighten the nut. Before inserting the new bushing apply high pressure lube to the tool threads then push the bushing through from the other side. Apply the rear Control Arm Bushing remover (J 45097) to execute the reverse installation steps using tool layout approach until the bushing sits completely before installing the lower Control Arm.

Reinstall the lower Control Arm and follow up with the tire and wheel, and then lower the vehicle.
