Chevrolet Aveo Control Arm Bushing Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear axle lower control arm bushing on Chevrolet Aveo?
A: A technician must first lift the vehicle before securing it to support then detach the rear axle before fixing it on the workbench. An industrial hot air dryer should heat the rear axle bushing area up to 50-75°c (122-158°F). The housing should be placed onto the rear axle using the rear Control Arm Bushing servicing set (29376-A). Use the Control Arm Bushing set (21474-01) and the rear Control Arm Bushing servicing set (29376-A) to pass the screw assembly (21474-19) through the bushing remover (29376-6-A) into the rear Control Arm Bushing and the receiver cap (29376-7). Using a screw assembly (21474-19) and long nut (21474-18) while holding the screw assembly road the long nut to remove part of the bushing. Strike the bushing remover (29376-6-A) with the remover/installer (KM-266-A) to completely remove the bushing. To mount the housing on the rear axle you need both the rear Control Arm Bushing servicing set (29376-A) and the Control Arm Bushing set (21474-01). Handle the screw assembly (21474-19) to insert it past the thrust washer into the receiver cap (29376-7) before moving it through the bushing and the bushing installer (29376-6-A). Mount the screw assembly (21474-19) onto the long nut (21474-18) while twisting the long nut (21474-18) to achieve a 45-degree (a) bushing slope relative to the rear axle axis. After installation of the rear axle proceed to lower the vehicle.
