Negative Cable

Starting the replacement process of the battery positive cable between the underhood junction block and the Starter requires first disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. When choosing cables for replacement you must select ones that match original specifications in type alongside diameter and length parameters and keep the orientation of the cables identical to the initial design. The next step requires detachment of the positive Battery Cable nut from the underhood junction block terminal. After that, raise the vehicle while finding support. The starting process begins with disconnecting the positive cable nut before removing the positive Battery Cable from the Starter since disconnecting it from the vehicle should be the last step. During the installation process position the new Battery Cable according to the original path while connecting the Starter with the positive cable nut followed by Starter terminal nut tighten-up to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Secure the positive Battery Cable to the negative one by the transmission while lowering the vehicle then use the positive terminal to join with the underhood junction block. Following the underhood junction block attachment of the positive Battery Cable nut you must tighten the bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft) while reconnecting the negative Battery Cable to the battery.

Remove the rear compartment trim panel and record all vehicle preset radio stations.

Install the negative battery cable ground terminal to the stud, followed by the engine harness ground terminal and the engine harness ground nut, tightening it to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

Remove the carpet and open the positive battery cable cover.

First, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

Place the engine harness ground on top of the ground terminal and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft), install the stud, and the engine harness grounds onto the stud, followed by tightening the engine harness ground nut to 17 Nm (13 lb ft).
