Start by removing the clutch pedal's push rod and then disconnecting the hydraulic tube from the concentric slave cylinder's quick connect coupling. The clutch line removal from the concentric slave cylinder requires the quick connect coupling special tool (J36221) to activate the white plastic sleeve on the quick connect coupling before splitting the clutch line away from the control unit. The next step requires removing clip attachments from the wiring harness bracket as well as sheet metal. Rotate the master cylinder body a 45-degree clockwise rotation to separate it from the cowl panel. Position the master cylinder toward the cowl panel but keep it from twisting excessively to maintain its safety. To install the master cylinder maintain a 45-degree angle position and rotate clockwise until it fits properly. Finish assembling by linking the hydraulic tube of the concentric slave cylinder to the quick-connect coupling before adding tube clips to brackets on the wiring harness and sheet metal. After securing the push rod to the clutch pedal check the reservoir oil level by using delco supreme(R) 11 brake fluid (GM P/N 1052535) or another equivalent product.

    Begin Clutch Master Cylinder service by obtaining the clutch line removal tool (J 42371) along with other needed equipment. The Clutch Master Cylinder can be found on the engine compartment dash panel where turning it 45 degrees counterclockwise will help to unlock it. Start by disconnecting the wiring harness from the Clutch Master Cylinder start switch and pulling out the master cylinder from its positioning in the dash panel. The clutch line removal tool (J 42371) disconnects the clutch line from the concentric slave cylinder while the two clips securing the clutch line to the dash panel must be removed when replacing the Clutch Master Cylinder. The installation process requires placement of the new Clutch Master Cylinder into position then fixation through the two dashboard clips. Attach the concentric slave cylinder to the clutch line using the pullback action on the connector sleeve before placing the Clutch Master Cylinder into the pedal bracket's clutch pedal square hole. After ensuring the master cylinder is locked at 45 degrees clockwise, push the clutch pedal down and perform three release cycles to verify correct operation.
