    Q:
How to replace the front brake disc on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the process by raising and supporting the vehicle from the ground. Take off both the wheel and tire from their position. The c-clamp part j 41013 pushes the caliper piston into its space before you can slide the caliper past the Brake Disc. Remove the c-clamp once done. Secure the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire or an appropriate alternative to stop hydraulic hose damage. Move together the brake caliper and caliper mounting bracket while disconnecting them from the Steering Knuckle to handle the hydraulic brake flexible hose without stress. Line up the Brake Disc with wheel studs before taking it out from the wheel assembly. Scrub away rust from both hub/axle flange and Brake Disc parts using our wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) and rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013). Test the mating surfaces for particles before placing the Brake Disc in the correct hub/axle position by using the matching mark. When you replace a Brake Disc within a brake system maintenance you need to test its assembled lateral runout for proper functioning. When the lro measurement does not meet requirements adjust it to standard levels. Put back the caliper unit with its bracket and attach it to the Steering Knuckle. Though the tire and wheel under it. Slowly let the car down while you may need to smooth the brake pads and disc surfaces at the same time.
