    Q:
How to replace the rear axle lower control arm (W/FE1, FE3) on Cadillac DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The rear axle lower Control Arm replacement process starts with removal of rear suspension support assembly for w/fe1 and fe3 models. Begin by removing the stabilizer shaft link bolt and stabilizer shaft insulators and spacer. You should uninstall the hub and bearing when required. You need to unscrew both nuts and bolts attaching the Control Arm to the rear suspension support assembly to remove the lower Control Arm. Install the Control Arm nuts by maintaining vehicle suspension at normal height when the vehicle rests on its wheels with no support. Slide the lower Control Arm onto the rear suspension support assembly and install the Wheel Bearing if required. Special care must be exercised with all fasteners during installation. You must perform the assembly by attaching the stabilizer shaft link bolt alongside the spacer then insulator and finally tightening the stabilizer shaft link bolt to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Secure the rear suspension support assembly onto the vehicle while checking that Control Arm nuts and bolts maintain a torque of 106 nm (78 lb ft) when the vehicle rests at normal ride height. Finally, lower the vehicle.
