    Q:
How to replace the front seat back Seat Heater Pad on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace front seat back heater element requires removing the seat from the vehicle. Beginning with the seat back release handle and seat belt guide removal you should proceed to remove the chrome head restraint trim from the headrest component. Start by removing the retaining tabs located at both seat back panel sides and also at its bottom. Next move to the left and right seat back cushion side bolster panels. Start by removing the cover tabs which surround both sides and the top of the seat back panel and the inside edge of the head restraint support before removing the seat back panel. To begin dismantle the seat back assembly by first removing its cover and cushion then unfastening the hog ring binding between cover and foam cushion before eliminating the cover from the cushion. Extract the heater element from the pad and feed the heater element electrical cables through the pad opening. Begin by passing the heater element electrical harness through the pad hole before applying the adhesive heater element onto the pad surface. Reinstall the cover onto the cushion by mounting hog rings and return the combined items to their position on the seat back assembly. To install the seat back cover tabs you should attach them first to the inside of the head restraint support then complete the attachment to the seat back panel. The installation concludes with first inserting the side cushion bolster panels before mounting the seat back cover retaining tabs which span both edges and the base of the seat back panel last attaching the tabs running across the upper seat back panel. Before installing the seat back inside the vehicle, connect the seat belt guide and seat back release handle and chrome head restraint trim to their respective positions on the headrest.

    Q:
How to Change the Seat Heater Pad in the Front Seat Back on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the replacement of front seat back heater elements by extracting the seat from its vehicle position. First detach the chrome head restraint trim from the headrest and then unfasten both the seat back release handle and seat belt guide. You need to detach four seat back cover retaining tabs which exist on either side and at the bottom of the seat back panel structure. Proceed by removing first the seat back side bolster panels from their left and right positions before taking off seat back cover tabs which surround the upper seat back panel and the inside of the head restraint support. The next step involves removing the seat back panel followed by separation of the cover with its cushion from the seat back assembly. The hog rings should be detached from connecting the seat cover to the foam cushion before extracting the cover from the cushion. Detach the heater element from the pad while extracting the heater element electrical harness through its hole. Begin by fitting the heater element electrical harness through the pad hole before pressing the adhesive heater element on the pad surface. Use hog rings to fasten the cover to its cushion before reattaching the cover and cushion onto the seat back assembly. Insert the seat back cover tabs into the head restraint support from inside and warm up for reinstallation of the seat back panel. Proceed with attaching the left and right side bolster panels of the seat back cushion followed by securing retaining tabs that run from the sides to the bottom of the seat back. Complete the installation by fastening the seat back cover tabs to the upper portion of the seat back panel followed by reinstallation of the seat belt guide and seat back release handle and chrome head restraint trim before returning the seat back into its proper position.
