2004 Chevrolet SSR Seat Heater Pad Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front Seat Heater Pad on 2004 Chevrolet SSR?
A: Begin the repair of front seat cushion heater elements by taking out the front seat assembly from the car. The first step requires removing the front finish panel which is followed by the seat cushion outer trim panel then the seat switch bezel. Use a flat tool to detach the j-strip from the frame where the seat cover closes behind the frame and then take out the push pins that hold the seat cover onto the frame structure. The seat belt buckle bolt requires removal followed by disconnecting the black electrical connector from the seat belt buckle so you can pull the harness through the seat adjuster assembly hole. You will reduce the seat belt buckle via the seat cushion cover slot before unscrewing each of the pull pins found on the seat cushion frame sides to free the front j-strip. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the seat cushion heater and proceed to remove the seat cushion cover along with pad from the frame structure. Stainless screws should be removed which secure the pad to the cover while you unfasten the seat's layer from its foundation. Remove the pad heater element by peeling it off and use the electrical harness opening to pull the heater element through the pad. Before installation begin by passing the heater element electrical harness through the opening of the pad. Then mount the adhesive-backed heater element onto the pad surface. Reconnect the seat cushion to the frame by utilizing hog rings to fasten the seat cover pad alignment around the rod present in the seat cover. Complete the installation by connecting the seat cushion heater electrical connector after carefully placing the seat cushion cover over the frame with a side-to-side method and adding the front j-strip. The seat cushion cover must be attached to the frame using push pins followed by installation of the seat belt buckle assembly through the cover slot. Finally tighten the seat belt bolt to 70 n.m (52 lb ft). Pass the seat belt buckle electrical harness underneath the seat adjuster then join the electrical connector to its destination on the seat belt buckle. The final process includes attaching rear seat cover flaps with push pins and adding a j-strip at the rear frame of the seat cover followed by reinstallation of the seat switch bezel along with seat cushion outer trim panel and front finish panel and the front seat assembly into the vehicle.
