2005 Chevrolet SSR Seat Heater Pad Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front Seat Heater Pad on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?
A: The first step to replace front seat cushion heater elements demands front seat assembly removal from the vehicle. Start by removal of the front finish panel and then proceed to take away the seat cushion outer trim panel before removing the seat switch bezel. First detach the j-strip which secures the seat cushion cover to the frame from its rear position before removing both push pins which anchor the seat cover to the structure. The seat belt buckle assembly requires removal by unscrewing its bolt and pulling the harness through the seat adjuster assembly hole after disconnecting the black electrical connector. To start remove the seat belt buckle assembly from its slot in the seat cushion cover after which you can detach push pins from each side of the seat cushion frame while releasing the front j-strip. First disconnect the seat cushion heater electrical connector if present then remove the seat cushion cover together with pad from the frame. First detach the hog rings binding the pad to the cover then pull off the seat cover from the pad. The installer needs to remove the heater element from the pad while extracting the heater element electrical harness through the pad's hole. Initiate installation by passing the electrical harness of the heater element through the hole found in the pad before pressing the adhesive-backed heater element onto the pad surface. Install the seat cushion onto the frame and fix the seat cover to the pad by placing hog rings at the rod position of the seat cover. Apply a side-to-side movement when placing the seat cushion cover on the frame before connecting the seat cushion heater electrical connector and installing the front j-strip. After securing the seat cushion cover to the frame using push pins (6) proceed with installing the seat belt buckle assembly through its slot while tightening the outer bolt (8) to 70 n.m (52 lb ft). Pass the seat belt buckle electrical wires through the seat adjuster mechanism then join the electrical cables to the seat belt hardware. Forall instances install the rear seat cover flaps using push pins and attach the j-strip to the frame from the rear seat cover before reinserting the seat switch bezel and seat cushion outer trim panel and front finish panel along with the front seat assembly into the vehicle frame.
