Beginning the hinge replacement process involves opening the door before supporting it while also taking out the intermediate door hinge bolts as well as the hinge spring. Drill clean the hinge attachment points on both door and mark the spot with a grease pencil. First clean the body pillar hinge mounting surface after removing both door side hinge bolts and the hinge and mark the surface location with a pencil. Cautiously reduce the torque on the cone adjuster bolt because its loosening could cause the bolt to enter the pillar area. The body side hinge requires the removal of two 13 mm bolts before removing the hinge from the side. Begin by putting new hinge pieces alongside marked reference points before coating the bolts with Locktite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or Canadian P/N 10953489 or their equivalent products. After that, install the bolts loosely before normalizing them. Synchronize the new body side hinge with pre-determined marks on the door while adding Locktite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or Canadian P/N 10953489 or equivalent to both the door side hinge bolts. Then loosely install the 13 mm body side hinges. Position the door to install intermediate bolts and then put in the hinge spring and the intermediate door hinge bolts before tightening them to 33 Nm (24 lb ft) and all body side and door side hinge bolts. Take the door support away after you must close the door while performing the final adjustments.

Clean the hinge mounting surface on the body pillar and mark its location.

Align the new hinge with the old alignment marks, apply Locktite(R) Blue to the door side hinge bolts, and install them lightly tightened.

Move the door away from the front pillar as far as the conduit allows.

Be careful not to loosen the cone adjuster bolt to avoid it falling inside the pillar, which could cause a rattle.

Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts and the hinge spring.

The body side door hinge has four attaching bolts: two 13 mm, one TORX(R), and one 10 mm bolt.

Remove the two 13 mm body side hinge bolts and the TORX(R) head body side hinge bolt.

Clean the hinge mounting surface on the body pillar and mark the hinge location.

Align the new door side hinge with the old alignment marks, apply Locktite(R) Blue, and install the door side hinge bolts, tightening them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
