    Q:
How to replace the front brake line on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
First lift the vehicle and put supports under it before starting the process. Take off both the tire and wheel unit. Twiste the brake pipe out of the brake hose and put a cap on it to stop brake fluid from leaking or harming the system. Take off the brake hose bracket nut then release the wheel speed sensor clips and brake hose bracket bolt. Lift both brake hose and caliper fittings before extracting their bolts to keep either gasket for reuse. Take away the damaged gaskets from both ends of the brake hose before taking off the brake hose. Put on new brake hose with replacement brake hose fitting gaskets for installation. Use the brake hose fitting bolt with two fresh brake hose fitting gaskets to join them with the brake hose. Secure the brake hose fitting bolt with 40 Nm (30 lb ft). Securely place the brake hose bracket bolt and tighten it to 16 Nm (12 lb ft) torque. After this, fasten the wheel speed sensor harness with its retaining clips. Attach the brake hose bracket nut tightly to 10 Nm of torque while connecting the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose and torquing it down to 18 Nm. Complete brake bleeding then put on the wheels and tires.

    Q:
How should you replace the brake line to prevent brake system failure on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
Brake pipe failure risks can be avoided by using double-walled steel brake lines with correct mounting at original fastener locations. At service time examine the damaged area before freeing the brake pipe holders and pick an appropriate position for sectioning that should not use bends or clamp points. For the replacement ensure you add the needed flare length which is 0.250 in for 3/16 in pipe, 0.374 in for 1/4 in pipe and 0.499 in for 5/16 in pipe. Use the J-45405 (Pipe Flaring Tool Kit) pipe cutter to cut the brake pipe into your exact measurement. Remove the sectioned piece from the piece. Take the right size brake pipe along with correct tube nuts before removing nylon covering from the flare end. Use de-burring tool J-45405 to cut the inside and outside taper. Place the correct tube nuts on the brake pipe and clean both parts before inserting the dies into J-45405. Position the prepared pipe tip inside dies and screw while fitting the forming rod to produce the flare at 6.74-7.10 mm for 4.76 mm (3/16 in), 8.57-9.27 mm for 6.35 mm (1/4 in), and 10.42-10.79 mm for 7.94 mm (5/16 in). Shampoo the pipe and forming tool before bending. Set up enough space between pipe and moving parts at 19 mm or 3/4 inch. Install andthalmic-flared ends with appropriate connectors safely. Secure brake pipe clips if you removed them before continuing to set up hydraulic brakes. Drain air from brake lines and check the pipe flares for leaks using brake pressure with running engine power.
