    Q:
How to replace the front brake caliper bracket on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
A mechanic should begin by raising and supporting the vehicle before removing the tire and wheel assembly to proceed with front Brake Caliper Bracket replacement. First use hand tools to remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts before stabilizing the guide pin using an open end wrench which must not touch the caliper to prevent brake pulsation during operation. To avoid damage to the hydraulic flexible brake hose the brake caliper requires support through heavy mechanic wire or material equivalent. First remove the brake caliper then proceed to remove the inner Brake Pad followed by the outer Brake Pad and Brake Pad springs . Thoroughly replace the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts before removing the Brake Caliper Bracket. Begin installation by mounting new Brake Caliper Bracket followed by cleaning bolt threads and holes using denatured alcohol to which threadlocker must be applied for 2/3 of new caliper bracket bolt length until it cures for about ten minutes. Apply thread locker to 2/3 of the threaded length of new Brake Caliper Bracket bolts , then install the bolts with a torque of 150 nm to 45 degrees before finishing with an additional 15 degree turn. After installing the Brake Pad springs you must position both the inner Brake Pad and the outer Brake Pad. Install the brake caliper onto the bracket keeping the guide pins secure before tightening the guide pin bolts to 27 nm (20 lb ft). Put the wheel back together and complete the installation.

    Q:
How to replace the front brake caliper bracket on GMC Terrain? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the front Brake Caliper Bracket, raise and support the vehicle and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts using hand tools only to ensure an open end wrench is used to hold the caliper guide pin in alignment with the brake caliper but not in contact to cause pulsation when braking. Support the brake caliper by using heavy mechanic or an equivalent while it is disconnected from its mount, so as not to damage the hydraulic flexible brake hose. Pry the brake caliper from the brake rotor, and then pry the brake rotor from Brake Caliper Bracket removing the inner Brake Pad, outer Brake Pad, brake pad springs, Brake Caliper Bracket bolts and Brake Caliper Bracket by hand. Installation starts through the placing of Brake Caliper Bracket and fix it to the car with bolts tightened to 190nm (140lb ft) replace the Brake Pad spring, the inner Brake Pad, and the outer Brake Pad, and set the brake caliper in the bracket. Lastly, keep the brake caliper guide pins still and use a wrench to tighten the guide pin bolts to 27 nm (20 lb ft) before removing the tire and wheel assembly.
