How to replace the Power Steering Hose Inlet Pipe on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe, remove the intake manifold cover and the Drive Belt. Add a drain pan below the vehicle to catch the escaping power steering fluid. Dislodge the clamp and remove the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe/hose from the Power Steering Reservoir. Disconnect the Power Steering Pump and gear inlet pipe/hoses routing clip nut located at the generator then remove the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe/hose from the routing clip. Lift and prop up the vehicle, then taking the right side engine splash shield. Then, take off the routing bolt on the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe to the engine block and compress the clamp to remove the power steering inlet pipe or hose from the cooler pipe . Open the hood of the car and unbolt the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe/hose from the vehicle. On installation, align the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe/hose to the vehicle, compress the clamp and attach the power steering inlet pipe/ hose to the cooler pipe. Install the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe routing bolt from the engine block and make it tight at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reattach the right side engine splash shield, lower the vehicle and reinstall the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe/hose in routing clip securing it with the nut tightened with 10 n.m (89 lb in). The clamp must be compressed and the Power Steering Pump inlet pipe/hose will be attached to the Power Steering Reservoir, then the drain pan must be pulled from the bottom of the vehicle. Replace the Drive Belt and the intake manifold cover. Lastly, refill and attempt to bleed the power steering system.
