    Owners must obtain the following tools to replace wheel drive shaft outer joints and seals: the required tools consist of snap ring pliers (J 8059) and seal clamp tool (J 35910) and drive axle clamp swage tool (J 36652). Snap ring pliers (J 8059), seal clamp tool (J 35910), and drive axle clamp swage tool (J 36652). Protective covers should first go over the vise jaws before installing the halfshaft securely inside the vise. The hand grinder helps you precisely cut the swage ring using a technique that protects the outer race from damage. Lower the new seal down the halfshaft bar as you clean the surface area of the CV Joint. The CV Joint and seal combination can be separated with snap ring pliers (J 8059) by opening the snap ring ears before removal. Dispose of the old seal afterwards. A brass drift should tap and tilt the CV Joint cage to remove the six chrome alloy balls. After you pivot both the cage and inner race you can lift them out so you can clean all parts with solvent followed by drying. Check the components for damage and replace parts that show wear or defects. Gently spread a thin layer of grease across inner and outer race grooves before placing the inner race within the cage which goes into the outer race. Place the cage at an angle as you put in chrome alloy balls while fully greasing the CV Joint seal and assembly. Use the seal clamp tool (J 35910) to secure the small seal clamp according to torque specifications. Put a new swage ring into position above the CV Joint seal while maintaining its correct orientation before inserting the CV Joint onto the halfshaft bar. Before proceeding confirm the connection by performing a CV Joint pull test followed by tool installation and alignment of correct components. Use drive axle clamp swage tool (J 36652) to surround the joint and seal with the tool's halves while torquing the bolts alternately to a secure state followed by bolt disengagement to free the halfshaft from the tool.
