    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing, hub, and seal on a 4WD on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
At the start of the repair process you need to take off the tire and wheel center cap along with the drive axle nut on a 4wd vehicle. After lifting the car use mechanical jacks to take off the tire wheel set along with the brake rotor. To shield wheel drive shaft threads place a brass drift against the outer shaft end then tap it with a hammer but do not try to extract the shaft now. Take out the two bolts that secure the ABS Sensor and remove the sensor from the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly. Take off the Wheel Hub and bearing from the Steering Knuckle by unscrewing bolts and separate the splash shield from the Steering Knuckle. After placing the splash shield on the Steering Knuckle you need to position its threaded holes directly. Fit the Wheel Hub and bearing to the Steering Knuckle using the threaded holes as alignment marks and fasten it with mounting bolts at 105 nm torque (77 ft. Lbs.). Fit the ABS Sensor with the mounting bolt and secure it at the specified torque value of 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Put the brake rotor back on alongside the tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle down. Finish the process by installing the drive axle nut then screwing it to 140 nm (103 ft. Lbs.) before putting on the tire and wheel center cap.

    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing and hub on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
To begin the replacement of the front Wheel Bearing and hub you must elevate the vehicle through proper techniques. Disconnect the brake caliper before removing it from the vehicle. Then slide off the speed sensor's electrical connector pieces and its bracket while keeping the speed sensor wire bundle neat from suspension parts. To work on the 4 wheel drive fixtures you must take off the Steering Knuckle. Separate the Wheel Bearing/hub and brake rotor assembly by unscrewing all its mounting bolts and remove the assembly from the Steering Knuckle. Perform the task by removing the brake rotor from its flat surface while disengaging the mounting bolt between the Wheel Bearing/hub and brake rotor. Detach the splash shield from the Steering Knuckle during this process. Narrow the Wheel Bearing/hub mounting bolt's contact area before fitting the Wheel Bearing/hub assembler with brake rotor. Install the mounting bolts first and tighten them crosswise to 20 nm (15 lb ft). Place the backing plate on the Wheel Bearing/hub and brake rotor assembly before installing the Steering Knuckle assembly. Install the Wheel Bearing/hub and brake rotor into the Steering Knuckle but avoid using air tools when tightening the hub bolts to the brake rotor. Secure Wheel Bearing/hub and brake rotor bolts to 125 nm (92 lb ft) torque, then connect brake caliper mounting bracket to Steering Knuckle and tighten its bolts to 175 nm (129 lb ft). Press the screwdriver or pry bar into the fins of the brake rotor and mounting bracket to make sure the brake rotor fits perfectly on the Wheel Bearing hub before tightening the rotor bolts to 81 lb ft in a specific order. Replace the speed sensor bracket and attach its power wire then verify hub/rotor/bearing tolerances. Install brake caliper components and the speed sensor onto the vehicle before lowering it to ground.

    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start replacement by first taking off the tire and wheel center cap then the drive axle nut. Lift your vehicle by supports and take off the tire wheel and brake rotor jointly. Hit the outer end of the wheel drive shaft with a brass drift to separate it from the Wheel Hub before handling the Wheel Bearing completely. First take out the ABS Sensor bolt and detach the ABS Sensor from its Wheel Hub bearing location. Unscrew all mounting bolts to pull out the Wheel Hub and bearing from their position on the Steering Knuckle. Afterward, take away the splash shield attached to that same piece. Begin installation by putting the splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle and placing its threaded holes directly above their positions. Position the Wheel Hub and bearing at the Steering Knuckle properly then fasten the bolts with 105 nm (77 ft. Lbs.) of torque. Install the ABS Sensor before adding its mounting bolt then torque it at 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Install the tire and wheel units back onto the brake rotor before lowering the vehicle. End the process by putting the drive axle nut on first then tightening it to 140 nm before adding the tire and wheel center cap.

    Q:
What Tools Are Required to Replace the Front Wheel Bearing, Hub, and Seal on a 4WD on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The axle remover tool j 45859 serves as the only tool needed for this job. Start by lifting the car and placing support underneath it. Then uninstall the tire and wheel along with the rotor. First you need to remove the front axle hub cap before taking off the wheel driveshaft retaining nut and washer from the wheel driveshaft. To separate the wheel shaft from the hub and bearing you need the axle remover tool j 45859. Twist off the Wheel Speed Sensor mounting bolt and disconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor from the Wheel Hub. Unscrew the Wheel Hub and bearing mounting bolts and extract the Wheel Hub and bearing unit together with the splash shield from the Steering Knuckle. Apply Wheel Bearing grease inside the Steering Knuckle bore surface then wipe off any rust or dirt from the area. Place the Wheel Hub and bearing along with the splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle after spreading Wheel Bearing grease over the Steering Knuckle bore. Tighten the hub bolts to 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.). Secure the Wheel Speed Sensor by screwing its mounting bolt to 18 nm using a torque wrench. After installing the wheel driveshaft retaining nut and washer apply 240 nm (177 ft. Lbs) torque. Then attach the front axle hub cap, rotor, tire and wheel. Finally, lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the Wheel Bearing, hub, and seal on a 4WD on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Wheel Hub, bearing, and seal for a 4wd vehicle, start by removing the center of the tire and wheel center cap, drive axle nut, etc. Lift the vehicle, then remove the tire and wheel as well as the brake rotor. Remove the wheel drive shaft from the Wheel Hub and Wheel Bearing by positioning a brass drift against the outer end of the wheel drive shaft where it protects the threads and deliver a sharp blow to it using a hammer and do not try to pull it out at this point. Next take out the ABS Sensor mounting bolt and ABS Sensor from the Wheel Hub and bearing. Unbolt the Wheel Hub and bearing from Steering Knuckle, and then remove the Wheel Hub and bearing out. Take off the splash shield on the Steering Knuckle. For installation, attach first the splash shield to Steering Knuckle in alignment with the threaded holes. Then, mount the Wheel Hub and bearing to the Steering Knuckle aligning the threaded there and fasten it by using mounting bolts to tighten them to 105 nm (77 ft. Lbs.). Mount the ABS Sensor and its bolt using 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall brake rotor, tire, and wheel, lower the vehicle, and lastly, reinstall the drive axle nut with a torque of 140 nm (103 ft. Lbs.), then the tire and wheel centre cap.

    Q:
How to service the front wheel bearing and hub on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Services on the front Wheel Bearing and hub begin with putting your vehicle on safety stands while raised. To begin service disconnect the Torsion Bar before taking apart the wheel unit. Use the brake before undoing the Wheel Hub hub and washer. Depart the rotor first but keep the halfshaft and Wheel Hub connected by using a hammer and brass drift to strike the halfshaft's outer end. Never attempt to separate the halfshaft now. Take out the two Wheel Speed Sensor bolts and remove the sensor from the Wheel Hub and bearing. Unfasten the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly from the Steering Knuckle using the bolts while setting it on the outboard hub bolts to shield the bearing seal. Take off the splash shield from the Steering Knuckle and pull out the Wheel Hub and bearing seal from the unit. Insert the Wheel Hub and bearing seal first on the assembly then position the splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle with correct alignment. Connect the Wheel Hub and bearing assembly with the Steering Knuckle by aligning threading and tightening mounting bolts to 105 nm (77 ft. Lbs.). Fasten the Wheel Speed Sensor to the Wheel Hub by tightening its mounting bolt at 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Place the rotor back in place and press the Brake Pedal. Add the drive axle washer and nut and fasten it with a torque of 140 nm (103 ft. Lbs.). End the job by putting back the tire and wheel unit then adding weight to the Torsion Bar to bring down the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing, hub, and seal on GMC Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before you start working on the hub assembly you need to support your vehicle with safety stands while raising it. Place a punch into the wheel rotor vanish slots to prevent rotation during repair on 4wd vehicles. Separate both drive axle components from the 4wd model by taking out the nut and washer first. 4wd drivers should disconnect the driveshaft from the hub and bearing by using the axle remover j 45859. Take out the Wheel Speed Sensor mounting bolt and sensor from the Wheel Hub to bearing assembly. Keep the Wheel Hub and bearing safe while removing its mounting bolts through the installation on the Wheel Hub studs on the vehicle's outside face. Take away both the splash shield and the Wheel Hub and bearing seal unit. Just before adding the Wheel Hub and bearing put the seal on the hub first and place the splash shield onto the Steering Knuckle at the correct position. Align the threaded openings of the Steering Knuckle and Wheel Hub before tightening the bolts to 105 nm (77 ft. Lbs.). You should bolt the Wheel Speed Sensor to its place using 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.) torque settings afterwards. Return the rotor to its place before inserting the rotor vanes punch in 4wd applications. After fitting the drive axle washer, fasten the nut until it reaches 140 nm (103 ft. Lbs.) torque. Replace the wheel and tire once you have finished lowering the vehicle.
